ABOUT ME
My name is Jasper Baur and the Cofounder and Lead Scientist at Safe Pro AI, the President of Demining Research Community, and a PhD Candidate at Columbia University. My dissertation is in explosive hazard mitigation with applications in physical volcanology and landmine detection. I am an earth scientist by trade, and I love all aspects of the natural world including studying, hiking, traveling, climbing, and exploring all of the breathtaking sights to be seen. I am passionate about protecting the environment and researching ways to detect landmines to combat the atrocities caused by them and UXO.

To address this international crisis, I founded the Demining Research Community, whose mission is to research, develop, and field test cutting edge sensors and platforms to improve current demining technologies and apply these findings to aid conflict and post-conflict nations. At Safe Pro AI I develop software, algorithms, and novel approaches to detect landmines in the real world. To date my software "SpotlightAI" is being deployed in Ukraine detecting mines and UXO everyday.
